Lin-Lin Mao Mollitor is a Chinese-American artist living in Seattle. Through making art, she explores the nature of the human condition, which we try to control, and the nature of the universe, which we cannot control. Her artworks are informed by her experience as an immigrant American who arrived in the US as a young child with her parents from Taiwan.

Themes in her work include: the celebration of women, questions about aggression and war, and contemplations on the nature of reality. She uses and adapts symbols and metaphors from both traditional Chinese and contemporary culture to communicate ideas in her work. Her practice includes painting, mixed media, and installation art.

Mollitor is currently working on two series. The first are large scale paintings which tell the story of her family’s diaspora starting from the Taiping Rebellion 160 years ago and continuing to this day. The second are mixed media pieces commenting on the nature of reality and humans’ place in it. She is open to commissions to create art for public or private spaces.
