Layomi Akinrinade

Layomi Akinrinade is a self-taught painter and photographer living in Seattle. Born and raised in Ife, Nigeria, he moved to the US in 2013 to study computer science. He makes art to assess the world around him, drawing inspiration from intergalactic space dreams, comparative history, human anatomy, post-COVID sociology, and explorations of his subconscious mind. Artists like Basquiat, Twombly, and Rothko, influence his visual composition, while aspects of his childhood, the mystery of love, and the complicated reality of mental health awareness add personality.
